DUBAI (The National) -- A Quran teacher told a policeman he raped a four-year-old boy because "the devil played with my head", a court heard today.

Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that the Bangladeshi HM, 24, was employed to give lessons to the children of four families who share a villa in Al Hamriya.

The Pakistani boy's father, 30-year-old ME, said the lessons took place in the villa's kitchen after Maghrib prayer for an hour every day except Thursdays and Fridays and that his son had been taking part in them for two months before the rape occured on July 18 this year.

Following that day's lesson, "My son came back to our room very frightened," said the boy's 25-year-old mother, SE. She said that when she asked him why he was afraid, he told her the teacher had ripped his trousers off and hurt him. The boy described the rape to her and said that it hurt him so much that at one point the teacher stopped and began touching him with his hand instead.

The mother told the boy's father and uncle who then caught the teacher and took him to the police station.

AA, a 45-year-old Yemeni policeman, said that when interrogated the teacher admitted raping the child, saying: "I was wrong and the devil played with my head."

  (ABC News) -- Asked about the Fast and Furious program at the Univision forum on Thursday, President Obama falsely claimed that the program began under President George W. Bush.

"I think it's important for us to understand that the Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration," the president said. "When Eric Holder found out about it, he discontinued it. We assigned a inspector general to do a thorough report that was just issued, confirming that in fact Eric Holder did not know about this, that he took prompt action and the people who did initiate this were held accountable."

In actuality, the Fast and Furious program was started in October 2009, nine months into the Obama presidency.

Previous programs involving ATF agents allowing guns to "walk" across the border so as to trace them were run during the Bush presidency, but not this particular "field-initiated program."

White House officials did not respond to a request for comment after the falsehood was pointed out to them.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A legal fight over freedom of speech is spilling into New York’s subway tunnels. A sign about “Jihad” is set to debut next week. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it crosses the line, but a judge disagrees.
 
On the region’s subways and buses, most ads we see don’t get much attention. But that may change with a pro-Israel ad that will soon grace MTA property which reads: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.”

The ad is a clear swipe against radical Muslims.

“It’s going to create problems for no reason, you know?” Maguid El Ghazzawi of Astoria told CBS 2’s Sean Hennessey on Wednesday night.

At a Manhattan Mosque, not all were pleased with the fact the ad will soon go public.

“It is negative, not positive,” Harlem’s Abdus Khan said.

“I think it is something stupid. For somebody they are very ignorant,” El Ghazzawi said.

For almost a year, the MTA fought the running of the ad, saying the words “savage” and “jihad” demean a group, but in the lawsuit a federal judge ruled that barring the ad violated the First Amendment and the “…fundamental importance of the free flow of ideas…”

“What the court said, ‘no demeaning’ is too general a phrase,” said Leon Friedman, a constitutional law expert at Hofstra University. “Government just can’t say ‘I like this ad, I don’t like that ad.’ They just can’t do that.”

While the MTA said its hands are tied, the ad’s sponsor celebrated the victory.

“Political speech is the most protected speech,” said Pamela Geller of the American Freedom Defense Initiative.

Geller said the ad isn’t anti-Muslim, but a response to an anti-Israeli ad the MTA ran last year.

“Honestly anyone that disagrees with me, I would take a bullet for their right to disagree with me. This is the beauty of America, the free exchange of ideas,” Geller said.

(Continental News)-- Muslim cleric Abu Islam Burns the Holy Bible in front of thousands of Muslims at protest outside the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday, 9/11. His action was met with applause and anti-Christian cheers from the demonstrators.

According to Mary Abdelmassih in a story carried by the Assyrian International News Agency (www.aina.org), the cleric, before leaving the demonstration and getting into his car, told the crowds “next time I will urinate on it.”

(ABC News) -- U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi was not premeditated, directly contradicting top Libyan officials who say the attack was planned in advance.

"Our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous - not a premeditated - response to what had transpired in Cairo," Rice told me this morning on "This Week."

"In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated," Rice said, referring to protests in Egypt Tuesday over a film that depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud. 

Protesters in Cairo breached the walls of the U.S. American Embassy, tearing apart an American flag.

"We believe that folks in Benghazi, a small number of people came to the embassy to - or to the consulate, rather, to replicate the sort of challenge that was posed in Cairo," Rice said. "And then as that unfolded, it seems to have been hijacked, let us say, by some individual clusters of extremists who came with heavier weapons… And it then evolved from there."

Google Rejects Dictator Obama's "Request" To Censor Mohammad Film

(Reuters) - Google Inc rejected a request by the White House on Friday to reconsider its decision to keep online a controversial YouTube movie clip that has ignited anti-American protests in the Middle East.

The Internet company said it was censoring the video in India and Indonesia after blocking it on Wednesday in Egypt and Libya, where U.S. embassies have been stormed by protestors enraged over depiction of the Prophet Mohammad as a fraud and philanderer.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed in a fiery siege on the embassy in Benghazi.

Google said was further restricting the clip to comply with local law rather than as a response to political pressure.

"We've restricted access to it in countries where it is illegal such as India and Indonesia, as well as in Libya and Egypt, given the very sensitive situations in these two countries," the company said. "This approach is entirely consistent with principles we first laid out in 2007."

White House officials had asked Google earlier on Friday to reconsider whether the video had violated YouTube's terms of service.

The practice of Halal is said to be a much slower, calmer process which begins with a prayer for the animal.

Some say this discriminates against non-Muslims.  But Paul Shapiro, Vice President for Farm Animal Protection at the Humane Society of the U.S. simply calls it inhumane.

"Animals have their throats cut without being rendered unconscious prior to the cutting," says Shapiro.  "That's unlike other types of more conventional slaughter where an effort is supposed to be made to render the animals insensible to pain."
 
The chain began using Halal practices after Muslims in England voiced their concerns about the slaughter process.

Rasheed Ahmed with the Muslim Consumer Group argues that traditional machine slaughter results in 142 chickens being killed each minute, and asks how is that more humane?

"A requirement for Halal is that the person has to pronounce the name of God," says Ahmed.  

"There's no chance that God's name is pronounced on each of the 142 chickens."

At least one KFC countertop in Houston displays a letter from the Islamic Society of the Washington Area certifying their chicken from Tyson Foods meets Halal requirements.  

However, there are reports that other fast food giants use the process without telling customers.

BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) - The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three embassy staff were killed in an attack on the Benghazi consulate and a safe house refuge, stormed by Islamist gunmen blaming America for a film they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad.

Gunmen had attacked and set fire to the U.S. consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi, the cradle of last year's uprising against Muammar Gaddafi's 42-year rule, late on Tuesday evening as another assault was mounted on the U.S. embassy in Cairo.

California-born ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed in the assault, but it was not clear how or where he died. U.S. consular staff were rushed to a safe house after the initial attack, Libya's Deputy Interior Minister Wanis Al-Sharif said.

An evacuation plane with U.S. commandos units then arrived from Tripoli to evacuate them from the house.

"It was supposed to be a secret place and we were surprised the armed groups knew about it. There was shooting," Sharif said. Two U.S. personnel were killed there, he said. Two other people were killed at the main consular building and between 12 and 17 wounded.

 CAIRO (Reuters) - Egyptian protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy in Cairo on Tuesday and pulled down the American flag during a protest over what they said was a film being produced in the United States that insulted Prophet Mohammad, witnesses said.

In place of the U.S. flag, the protesters tried to raise a black flag with the words "There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger", a Reuters reporter said.

Once the U.S. flag was hauled down, protesters tore it up, with some showing off small pieces to television cameras. Then others burned remains.

"This movie must be banned immediately and an apology should be made ... This is a disgrace," said 19-year-old, Ismail Mahmoud, a member of the so-called "ultras" soccer supporters who played a big role in the uprising that brought down Hosni Mubarak last year.

Many Muslims consider any depiction of the Prophet to be offensive.

Mahmoud called on President Mohamed Mursi, Egypt's first civilian president and an Islamist, to take action. Many others were supporters of Islamist groups.

About 20 people stood on top of the embassy wall in central Cairo, where about 2,000 protesters had gathered.

"There is no god but Allah, Mohammad is Allah's messenger. We will sacrifice ourselves for you, Allah's messenger," they chanted, with many waving religious flags.

A U.S. embassy official had no immediate comment on the protesters' actions but the embassy had put out a statement earlier on Tuesday condemning those who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims or followers of any other religions.

"We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others," the U.S. embassy said in its statement.

(The Tennessean) -- A Nashville woman was charged with attempted terrorism Friday after investigators said she threatened to hurt co-workers at the South Nashville Dell facility last weekend.

The trouble began when a CEVA Logistics employee said his co-worker Amal Ahmed Abdullahi, 29, of Zermatt Avenue, approached him during his shift last Saturday.

According to a release from Metro police, Abdullahi told the employee that “her people were dying for Allah every day; that she was ready to die for Allah; that this whole country will be Muslim soon; that this country is full of non-believers and that this place (her work place) is full of non-believers; that all unbelievers should die; that her life starts after death; that her life is not here, nobody pays attention to her and she should pick up a gun and shoot all these people.”

CEVA Logistics signed the arrest warrant as the prosecutor against Abdullahi, accusing her of intimidating/coercing a civilian population.

"You were born in Hawaii?" the president said. Then he added teasingly: "You have a birth certificate?"

The patrons at Gator's Dockside, clearly aware of the discredited claims that Obama was not born in the United States, broke up laughing.

Woman Brutally Assaulted By Teenage Mob In Possible Hate Crime

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - When a 24-year-old woman saw a deli worker in trouble, she tried to help and ended up paying a painful price. Now she's hoping a video will help identify her attackers.

The victim, whose name and identity News 4 is protecting, suffered broken bones above her right eye and a fractured nose after being assaulted by some of these teenaged boys shown in surveillance video from the deli. The boys had been inside before the attack, filling their pockets with items they allegedly didn't pay for.

She happened to be outside the deli at the time and noticed the young brother of the owner chasing the alleged shoplifters confronting them. Then the mob, including some teenaged girls, turned on her.

She was mercilessly beaten by six to ten people.

"Within five seconds, [I] was surrounded by a group of boys who just started punching me in the face. And when I fell to the ground they kept hitting me, and I stood up once and they knocked me down again and started kicking me in the face and back," the woman said.

She said Buffalo Police showed up quickly, but did not make any arrests, even though she could identify at least one of the girls who was still on the street.

Democrats Put "God" and "Jerusalem" Back Into Party Platform

CHARLOTTE, N.C.(Yahoo! News) —Facing unhappy pro-Israel groups amid a Republican-led outcry, Democrats gathered Wednesday at their presidential nominating convention made 11th-hour changes to the party platform to reinstate a reference to God and a declaration that "undivided" Jerusalem is Israel's capital.

There was widespread booing on the floor of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa led delegates in three voice votes that sounded, at best, equally divided on whether to restore language from the party's 2008 document.

 Observers said the boos were directed at Villaraigosa's decision to skip a formal ballot and declare the platform amended.

"Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths," the amended document read.

The vote also returned this language to the platform: "We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential."

Republicans raised a hue and cry over the Democrats' decision to no longer include the words "God-given" after David Brody of CBN News reported its absence (while also noting that the platform included a section on the importance of faith).

Muslim Cleric Arrested In Pakistan for Framing Christian Girl Accused of Burning Pages of Koran

(Associated Press) -- Pakistani police have arrested a Muslim cleric who accused a Christian girl of blasphemy on suspicion that he planted evidence, a police officer said Sunday, the latest twist in a religiously charged case that has focused attention on Pakistan's harsh blasphemy laws.

The case of the Christian girl accused of allegedly burning pages of a Quran has sparked controversy at home and abroad in large part because of her age and questions about her mental capacity. It also has triggered an exodus of hundreds of Christians from the neighborhood where the accused girl lived, fearful of retribution by their Muslim neighbors.

The cleric, Khalid Chishti, was arrested late Saturday for allegedly planting pages of a Quran in a shopping bag containing burned papers and ash that had been carried by the Christian girl, said Munir Jaffery, an investigating officer in the case.

Chishti was scheduled to appear in court later Sunday.

The girl was later accused of burning pages of the Quran, a serious offense in Pakistan that can result in life in prison.

The about-face could lead to her being released from prison.

The girl's family and some human rights activists put the girl's age at as young as 11. A medical board who reviewed her case determined she was around the age of 14 and said her mental capacity did not match her age, which called into question her mental state.

Pakistani Christians Ordered To "Convert To Islam Or Leave Muslim Neighborhood"

(Pakistan Christian Post) -- A story of fear and blasphemy is in making in one of the Muslim majority area of Lahore like Mehrabad, a slum of Islamabad from where 600 hundred Christian families fled from home after Muslim mob attack after arrests of minor disabled Christian girl under blasphemy charges.

The venue of new horror and fear is reported by Christians via e-mails and SMS by Christian residents of LDA, Walton Road, Lahore, where Muslims sprayed bullets on homes of Christians on night of August 30, 2012, issuing warning “Convert to Islam or leave this neighborhood”. Today on August 31, 2012, Muslims are gathered in hundreds around Christian’s homes and chanting slogans “Naara-e-Takbeer” which is used by Jihadists before attack to kill.

Rev. Dr. Jamil Nasir of Church Of Pentecost Lahore Pakistan, resident of same locality of Walton Road Lahore, says “It happened two nights ago when I was at a meeting and my family was alone at home. Some Maulvis (Islamic Clerics) came to my house and started banging and kicking the door. They wanted to meet me. My family was very scared and my children were crying and praying inside. They left and came back again. One of them said to me, “I want to become Christian". I said, “I do not make anybody Christian". The other one said "I was a Muslim and now I have become Christian, I need your help". I understood the situation and knew that they were trying to harass me. So I did not answer them. They threatened me when they left”

It all started when a Muslim man named Ahmed Bhatti who owns a butcher shop next to the place where we hold our tent Church started a madrasah on his property. He started Melad (Islamic verses singing) there.

Last Sunday when Church service was over, more than dozen Muslim criminals gathered in front of Church and started harassing Christian girls who were leaving after services.
